Madan Mohan Malviya Park is 8 km from the railway station. The park has been built at the place where Lord Caning read the declaration of Queen Victoria in Nov.

1858. Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya decided to build a memorial at that place. A white stone memorial with four addorsed lions on the top of the pillar was constructed in the park. The foundation of this memorial was laid by then Governor General Lord Minto in 1910.

Malaviya Park.   It is one of the most visited attractions for researchers.. The park is erected on a site which is located near  the Saraswati Ghat in Yamuna. In addition, the park also holds an important position in the history of British India. This is because the park is constructed on the same place where Lord Canning read out the declaration of Queen Victoria's Proclamation in 1858.
This step was however taken in the wake of Sepoy Mutiny, which occurred in 1857. The blatant corruption that prevailed in the ranks of the East India Company was the major reason behind this mutiny.

Minto Park, officially Madan Mohan Malaviya Park, is a park in Allahabad, India.It is located in the southern part of the city along the banks of Yamuna river.The park is a historical site for in 1858 Earl Canning read out the declaration of Queen Victoria's Proclamation which resulted in the complete transfer of control over India from The East India Company to the government of Britain. The park is named after Earl of Minto who, in 1910, laid a stone memorial with a four-lion symbol on the park.
